National recording artist and award-winning guitarist Randy Stephens was born in 1966 in Panama City, Florida.  1966 was the same year the Temptations released “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” and Jimi Hendrix formed his renowned Jimi Hendrix Experience group.  Randy first picked up the guitar in 1980 performing classic rock, blues, roots music and jazz and has never looked back.


In the 2000 “Jam with Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s” contest Randy won for his lead guitar work on the song “In Too Deep”.  In 1992 he was asked for his Oregon band at the time, “Mr. X” 
to open for Eric Burden and the Animals. 


Randy currently lives in Sarasota County with his band The Groove Makers performing over 150 dates each year.  Randy and his band have opened for many national acts including Biscuit Miller & the Mix, Albert Castigiallia, Pat Travers and Larry McCray to name but a few. The band won 2nd place in the IBC 2019 competition.
