The Gulf Coast Enzianer Schuhplattler Verein, Inc. is more than just another dance group. It is a nonprofit, cultural preservation society founded in 1977 focused on Bavarian culture of the late nineteenth century, circa 1880-1900. The Verein preserves this culture through traditional dance, costume, and other customs.

The Gulf Coast Enzianer Schuhplattler Verein stays active throughout the year although October is their busiest time. They have danced their way across Florida, appeareing everywhere from the opening of Germany at Epcot Center and Oktoberfest Tampa, to engagements for many private organizations. In 1991, they traveled to the island of Curaçao to perform. The Club is a member of the Gauverband Nordamerika, an umbrella organization promoting Bavarian culture and Schuhplattler. They practice at their home club, the German American Society of Pinellas County throughout the year.
